Welcome to the Dolphin room

The Dolphin room aged 0-2 years offers a variety of stimulating activities promoting all areas of learning from an early age.
Our children are able to access resources and activities demonstrating their individual preferences and characteristics. We encourage new challenges and praise 'having a go' and any achievements managed.

Welcome to the Dolphin Room! This room caters for children aged 0-2 Years. The children have access to all resources on a daily basis and usually have free choice of what they want to play with, this shows their likes and interests which can then be integrated into planning activities that meet their individual develoopmental needs. As the children are at such a young age, we encourage them to explore different things with their senses (e.g. providing sensory materials, touchy- feely books, musical instruments etc). We also encourage them to 'talk' or 'babble' to communicate their wants or needs.

My name is Lucy, I am based in the Dolphin Room. I am a key person for the babies (aged 0-2). A key aspect of my job role is to observe and document the learning and development of the children in my care. I do this through effective planning, creating fun and stimulating opportunities to support the children in their learning and development. I create an online learning journey for each child which show the children's achievements and daily activities. I find this method very beneficial as parents can access their child's learning journey at a convinient time for them.

My name is Diane, I am currently the Deputy Manager of the Nursery. I am mainly based in the Dolphin room with the 0-2 year olds as a key person. I track and document the development of the children in my care, providing them a wide range of stimulating learning opportunities through a variety of activities of play and exploration. I am currently a full time member of staff therefore giving excellent continuity for the children in my care.
